Owners manual for ZenPad S 8.0 (Z580C) now on Asus.com

With a release date looming, Asus has listed the ZenPad S 8.0 (Z580C) owners manual in their support section. This is another indicator of some official news regarding pricing and release date upcoming. Before these tablets are going to be available to buy, certain details needs to be dealt with first. An owners manual is one such item.

Within the owners manual, Asus has made the ZenUI a big focus of the information. Think of ZenUI as being an Asus skin on top of Android. It’s their enhancements as it were. Ultimately it’s going to be up to you whether these are better than what you’ve experienced on other Android devices. That said, Asus really delves into the features in clear, understandable, information. The addition of screenshots adds a level of ease for understanding. Some owners manuals are a joke, but this one is certainly useful and worth reading. If you understand the features of the software, you’re likely to enjoy the tablet more.

There isn’t anything overly revealing within the manual. We did notice one oddity and that was seeing a couple odd ZenPad S 8.0 models. We are not certain what the heck these are.

Our prediction for release dates and prices was that this would be the week. We stand by that! Certainly Asus can’t wait until July to provide price details. Right? A lot of people are rightfully excited about the hero tablet, the Z580CA, but we have felt that the Z580C is coming first to market with the CA model a time later. The only tablet from the S series with any additional resources on Asus.com is the Z580C. Until we see a shift, we still question the release schedule of the Z580CA. It’s what a lot of you want and we’re doing our best on getting more information.

I have a ASUS ZenPad S 8 Z580CA-C1-BK 8″ 64 GB Tablet and purchased Cable Matters USB 3.1 Type C (USB-C) to VGA Adapter in Black (NOT compatible with Chromebook Pixel, Up to 720p on Lumia 950/950XL) to project my videos. Until now I’m no able to see the videos. Could you tell me what are the steps I have to do. Thanks.

Hi. Can you verify that the cable requires a Gen 2 USB Type C port? I think that may be the issue. The way USB 3.1 Type C is reported, it’s unfortunate that there are basically 2 different versions. One had added function (Gen 2) and the other does not (Gen 1). Most devices have Gen 1 right now unfortunately.
